This is the Home page for West Wilts Youth Sailing Association
Welcome to West Wilts Youth Sailing Association. We are a charitable trust, based on a lake in Westbury, Wiltshire. Our primary aim is to introduce young people between the ages of 8 and 18 to the sport of sailing.
Run completely by volunteers, we are a Royal Yachting Association recognised teaching centre, with a range of different boats.
The association is self financing through paid membership, grants, donations and sponsorship.
** THURSDAY NIGHTS AND WEDNESDAY NIGHTS will combine on a Wednesday night for the whole of AUGUST. This is due to a lack of kids and instructors, as everybody is on holiday. Thursday nights will be back to normal on the 2nd September **
The association started in 1967 with just three boats and a group of keen volunteers. Forty years on we now have 19 boats, two safety boats and a team of RYA qualified Instructors. During a typical week over a hundred children will sail on the lake.
