BBC Wiltshire Interview - June 2014

Having been given permission to sail at Shearwater (by kind permission of Longleat Estate) we were contacted by BBC Wiltshire who had reported on the arson attack. A reporter was sent to interview us at our first session which you can listen to here.


RYA Dinghy Instructors - April 2014

Following 6 days of being put through their paces 5 of our members successfully completed the RYA Dinghy Instructors course.

Alongside their sailing skills the course requires a wide range of skills in terms of teaching, safety, child protection, first aid & power boat driving. All these elements form part of a continuous assessment over the 6 days with the final day being under the watchful eye of a moderator.

Well done guys, we all look forward to working with you.

THEWest Wilts Youth Sailing Association has celebrated another successful and busy year with the presentation of trophies at its AGM. 

The association reports, "Our four sailing nights have been well attended both by junior members and instructors and helpers and there is a growing waiting list.

"In order to encourage our young members to widen their sailing abilities various activities were organised, starting with the Commodore's sailing and camping weekend at Roadford which again proved popular and most enjoyable. ..... read more
